What to wear to a nightclub in Genoa

“What should I wear?” is one of the questions I get most before a night out. Every venue has its style and every night its vibe, but a few rules almost always apply. Here are my tips.

The basic rule: smart, not over the top

At nightclubs in Genoa, the winner is whoever looks put-together but comfortable. A simple, clean look beats an overdone one you don’t feel yourself in. Unsure about a particular night? Ask me and I’ll tell you what the crowd is like.

For him

  • A clean shirt or t-shirt, without loud slogans.
  • Long trousers in winter; in summer it depends on the night, ask first.
  • Clean shoes: it’s one of the details people notice most at the door.
  • Avoid gym wear.

For her

  • Choose something you can dance in comfortably for hours.
  • Shoes: if you wear heels, remember you’ll be standing all night. A lower heel or a smart, comfortable shoe is often the best choice.
  • In summer, a light jacket for the sea breeze at the end of the night.

Winter and summer

  • In winter, at Mako: evening look, a bit smarter. Remember you’ll go from warm to cold when you come in and out.
  • In summer, at SYS and Sunrise: lighter look, but still put-together. On the seafront at night the wind can pick up.

Don’t forget

  • ID: age may be checked at the door.
  • A charged phone, to find each other and to message me if needed.
  • Travel light: the less you carry, the better you dance.

Got a table?

If you’ve booked a table, the night is more relaxed: you have a fixed spot to leave your jacket and bag and meet up with friends. Not sure how it works? Read how to book a nightclub table in Genoa.
